Wednesday Night Poetry

When your eyes are tired
the world is tired also.

When your vision has gone
no part of the world can find you.

Time to go into the dark
where the night has eyes to recognize its own.

There you can be sure
you are not beyond love.

The dark will be
your womb tonight.

The night will give you a horizon
further than you can see.

You must learn one thing.
The world was made to be free in.

Give up on all other worlds
except the one to which you belong.

Sometimes it takes darkness
and the sweet confinement of
your aloneness to learn,

anything or anyone

that does not bring you alive

is too small for you.

  1. Whoa. A few of your comments have been on my mind, also.
One, "Resistance is a lack of trust in the Universe." Indeed. For some reason this past weekend, although I was feeling rather down, I cleared clutter, threw away two bags of trash and the next day felt like a new woman. This is trust in the universe, clearing the way for the new and pushing away of the old, which brings me to the next comment, from the poem, "anything or anyone who does not bring you alive is too small for you." Yes, I see that I have been allowing things into my life that have allowed me to wallow in my past and that is not who I see myself as anymore, nor who I want to be. I want to feel aligned with myself and everything that does not bring that to me I have been discarding.

I always appreciate the time you take to comment on my blog. Thank you for stopping by. Peace from my heart to yours. xo, Graciel
